Getting Your Logo on Your Google Ads
Where your logo can appear on Google, what Google requires, and what to have ready for your first check-in call.
One of the most common questions after launch is "how do I get my logo to show up on my ads?" It's a great way to build trust and stand out — and it's something we set up with you on your first check-in call. Here's how it works and what to have ready.
The short version: Your logo can appear in a few different places on Google. Getting it onto your search ads depends on Google verifying your business first, so it isn't instant — but we'll walk through it together and handle the account setup for you.
The three places your logo can appear
It helps to know these are separate things — people often mean different ones when they say "my logo isn't showing."
1. On your Google ad
This is the logo that appears next to your ad in Google search results. Google pulls it from a business logo asset in your ad account, and it only becomes available after Google has verified your business (more on that below). Google displays the logo in a circle, and — importantly — even once it's set up, Google doesn't promise to show it on every ad. When it doesn't show, your ad simply falls back to a small globe icon next to your website address.
2. Your advertiser identity
Google requires every advertiser to verify who they are. Once that's complete, your verified business name appears in the "About this advertiser" details Google shows — and it unlocks the business logo for your search ads. Verification is the gate for everything above, and it can take some time, which is exactly why your first check-in call (about a week after launch) is a natural moment to get it moving. See Google Ads Advertiser Verification for what to bring and how we complete it together.
3. On your Google listing
Separate from ads entirely: the logo on your business's Google listing — the panel that appears on Search and Maps. This one comes from your Google Business Profile, not your ad account. If you've granted us access to your Google Business Profile, we can keep it consistent with your ads.
What we'll do together
On your first check-in call, the Outbound.com team will:
- Make sure your advertiser verification is underway or complete.
- Upload your logo to the ad account at the right size and shape.
- Confirm your Google Business Profile logo matches your ads.
You don't need to log into Google Ads or set anything up yourself — we handle it on the call.
What to have ready
Bring one thing: a clean, high-quality version of your logo.
- Format — PNG or JPG.
- Shape — square (1:1). Google displays it in a circle, so pick a logo that reads well inside a circle; avoid wide logos or important detail in the corners.
- Size — at least 128 × 128 pixels, though 1200 × 1200 is ideal.
- Background — plain or transparent looks best.
Not sure which file to use? Send us what you have and we'll help you pick the best one.
What to expect
Logos don't appear instantly. Google reviews new logos (usually within a couple of business days), and advertiser verification can take longer. Even after everything is approved, Google decides when to show your logo — so it may not appear on every search. That's normal and expected.
