Add a Payment Method to Meta Ads

How to add or update a payment method for your Facebook and Instagram (Meta) ads, with links to Meta's official steps.

To run Facebook and Instagram ads, your Meta ad account needs a valid payment method on file. You'd add one to get started, or to replace a card that stopped working. Here's how, with links to Meta's official steps.

The short version: In Meta Business Suite (or Ads Manager), go to Billing → Payment settings → Add payment method. You'll need admin access to the ad account. Meta accepts cards, PayPal, and — in some countries — a bank account.

Before you start: the right access

You manage payment methods from the ad account you own, and it takes an admin role on that account (or your business portfolio) to add or change one. If you don't see the option, whoever owns the account will need to do it or grant you access. (New to how your Meta account is set up? See Create Your Meta Business Account.)

Add a payment method

Open your billing settings

Go to business.facebook.com and open BillingPayment settings (in Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager).

Add the payment method

Click Add payment method, choose your type — card, PayPal, or a bank account where available — enter the details, and save.

Accepted payment types

What you can use depends on your country, but Meta generally accepts credit and debit cards and PayPal, plus a bank account (direct debit) in supported regions.

Running Google Ads too?

Google Ads handles payments separately, in its own account. If you also run Google Ads, here's how to add a payment method there:
